Religious and religious-owned institutions have different rules. It’s just something anti-Mormons invented to make members look like idiots. I had to sign a 'grooming clause' when i applied to Brigham young. You CHOSE to go to BYU instead of saving money by doing a year or two of community college and transferring your credits or working harder in hs to get a good scholarship to a state school (both of which can work out to be the same as or less than BYU). I think BYU will get rid of the beard rule a few years before GAs start having beards. I think its a great program, I've had internships and offers all over the country and many, many companies come here twice a year for BYU undergrads, at the STEM fair that others have mentioned.
