From there, like others have said, load it with a realistic load of at least 25 pounds and reset all straps then follow the instructions, but most go something like, hip belt first, tighten, shoulder straps next, tighten, load lifters, tighten, then chest strap, tighten to finish off. I apparently have my fathers shoulders because there’s no way the shoulder straps will slide off (backpacks without a sternum strap totally slide right off my moms shoulders) but they do help keep the shoulder straps positioned better. The reason I got this bag in 24L is that it seems like a compact traveling bag because of the clam shell form factor which is what I wanted. I find my build kind of pushes shoulder straps outward. On a recent trip I somehow managed to lose the buckle piece for the right side of the chest strap. The water bottle pocket is useless.
