Rutgers data science reddit I have done a lot of research into the career so far (and still more to go): what is it exactly, what kind and level of education is required to pursue it (especially for my case), what are the job prospects for it, etc. Alternatively there you can do a CS major and a data science minor or a certificate. Data science major/minor is a new interdisciplinary program so imo you will just be a lab rat for Rutgers to figure out how to run/set up the major for the future. If CS is not for you, data science with domain track may be relevant. More information on the tracks should be available sometime in Fall 2023. . There is a lot of synergy there. Data Management is basically just intro to python. Feb 26, 2025 ยท The Data Management course is no longer required to declare the Data Science major, but it is still a requirement for the DS degree completion. hi, i'm a second year intending to major in computer science and data science (stats concentration) and wanted to get advice on this schedule for spring 2024 sem. Intro to DS also has some math and stats. It is very project intensive. If you can, do a double major in CS and data science CS track. I would say intro to data science is way more interesting and beneficial than AI. We understand that the previous requirement may have posed challenges for some students, and we believe this update will encourage more students to pursue their academic goals without unnecessary barriers. Intro to DS has assignments that make up a lot of the grade and aren't too hard, the exams are hard but the course has a decent curve. I already took intro to cs, data structures, calc 1 and 2, but idk if i should take comp arch which i've heard is difficult with 2 other cs electives and a data science intro course. Also on top of that, interdisciplinary majors graduate a lot of the time with big gaps in their knowledge imo. I have been recently, and VERY deeply, considering pursuing a career (which, by extension, first and foremost, a master's) in Data Science. Hey all. You seem to be early in the CS curriculum and early in the math curriculum so I'd recommend taking data management first. In Intro to data science, everything is machine learning. You will learn about different classification, regression, clustering and time series modeling techniques. cfuriz otpz twzl fnuvbz jts tijge ometm xtenfn vgxha sqbg
